Terms & Conditions
These Terms govern your access to and use of MajorFluent. Please read them carefully — by using the service you agree to them.
The MajorFluent service (the “Service”) is operated by MajorFluent (“MajorFluent,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and MajorFluent. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
MajorFluent provides structured, time-boxed learning experiences (“sprints”) designed to give you working familiarity with the language, mental models, debates, methods, and representative work of an academic or professional field. The Service is intended to build conversational fluency and to help you decide whether to study a field further. It is general educational content and a self-assessment tool — nothing more.
2. What MajorFluent Is Not
MajorFluent does not provide, and you may not rely on it as, any of the following: academic credit, a degree or degree equivalent, certification, licensure, professional credentialing, continuing-education credit, or any guarantee of competence, employment, income, admission, or other outcome. Completing a sprint signals exposure and orientation, not mastery or expertise.
3. No Professional Advice
The Service, including any responses generated by the “Ask the Professor” feature, is provided for general educational purposes only and is not professional advice. It is not medical, legal, financial, investment, tax, accounting, diagnostic, engineering-safety, or career advice, and it does not create any professional-client relationship. Do not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of the Service without seeking advice from an appropriately qualified and licensed professional. For any medical, legal, financial, or safety decision, consult a licensed professional.
4. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for maintaining the confidentiality of your account, and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Subscriptions, Purchases & Billing
MajorFluent offers a one-time all-access purchase (lifetime access to every field) and single-field purchases at the prices displayed at the time of purchase. Paid plans grant a personal, non-transferable right to access the content you have purchased. If any subscription option is offered, it renews automatically at the then-current price unless cancelled before the renewal date, and you retain access through the end of the paid period. Applicable taxes may be added. Where any promotional, beta, demonstration, or no-charge access mode is offered, it is identified as such in the product, and no payment is taken in those modes.
6. Refunds
Except where required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable once access to purchased content has been provided. Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory cancellation or refund rights you may have as a consumer in your jurisdiction.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service and its content — including curricula, text, glossaries, frameworks, assessments, design, software, and trademarks — are owned by MajorFluent or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the content for your own non-commercial learning. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, resell, distribute, or create derivative works from the content, or use it to train or develop any machine-learning model or competing product, without our prior written permission.
8. Your Content
You retain ownership of the notes, reflections, highlights, questions, and other material you create in the Service (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. We treat your private notes and reflections as confidential to your account, and we do not share specific learner content except as needed to provide the Service or as required by law.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by: attempting to gain unauthorized access; interfering with its operation or security; reverse-engineering or extracting the underlying content or models at scale; using automated means to harvest content; sharing account credentials; or using the Service to generate, solicit, or distribute unlawful, infringing, harmful, or deceptive material. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms.
10. AI-Assisted Features & Third-Party Services
Certain features use third-party providers, including AI model providers and payment processors. AI-generated responses are grounded in MajorFluent’s curriculum but may contain errors or omissions; you are responsible for evaluating their accuracy before relying on them, and Section 3 (No Professional Advice) applies in full. Your use of third-party services may also be subject to those providers’ terms.
11. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service you consent to the data practices described there.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the content is complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MajorFluent and its principals, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim or fifty U.S. dollars (US$50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MajorFluent from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
15. Changes to the Service & These Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive.
17. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and MajorFluent agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware for any dispute not subject to binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in this section limits mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you under the law of your place of residence.
